About Us
Hi, Iโm Janice Harris Treadway, daughter of Rufus and Mary Harris. I was born and raised in Reynolds, a small town in Middle Georgia, where my love for food and family first took root.
Some of my earliest memories are of standing on a bucket beside my mother at the stove, stirring pots of peas, collard greens, or fried corn while she cooked in her apron.
Leaving an indelible mark on the landscape of tomorrow.

Iโm also the proud mother of three beautiful daughters and grandmother to seven amazing grandchildren.
As a single mother, I had to learn how to stretch meals to feed my family in a way that was both cost-efficient and full of flavor. That experience taught me not only how to cook, but how to create meals that brought comfort, joy, and togethernessโeven on the toughest days. Food has always been more than a meal to meโitโs a way to bring people together, to share love, laughter, and a sense of home. I enjoy blending tradition with creativityโmixing the old with the new, always adding just the right amount of spice and soul.
As a creative thinker, I love turning simple ideas into something bigger and more beautiful. Thatโs exactly what The Traveling Pot LLC is about. Based in Olympia, Washington, weโre a small, Christian, woman-owned business dedicated to sharing the warmth of Southern kitchens with families near and far. We offer hand-mixed blends for biscuits, waffles, cakes, and cornbread, all packed with a taste of nostalgia. We also offer homemade jams, apple butter, trail mix, and specialty coffee blends.
